Celebrate Independence Day in Clear Creek County

Bring the family to Clear Creek County to enjoy great events scheduled in Georgetown, Silver Plume, and Idaho Springs. Enjoy an old fashioned 4th of July Parade, home cooked BBQ, cakes + pies + ice cream social, live music, entertainment, adventure activities, and fireworks over the iconic Charlie Tayler Waterwheel.

There are also many local restaurants, craft breweries, saloons, gift shops, art galleries, train rides, mine tours and museums to explore!

New this year, all day long scavenger hunt, and the Famous Bucket Brigades are returning with a ‘twist’  in Historic Downtown

Start the day in Georgetown, Colorado with a SUP-athlon at Georgetown Lake then enjoy a beer garden while you settle in and wait for the start of the Old Fashioned Parade in Historic Downtown. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and find a spot to watch – we also suggest bringing umbrellas for shade, or you can pick one up a beautiful keepsake umbrella at the Georgetown Valley Candy Company too!

After the parade enjoy a short walk to City Park at the corner of 10th Street and Rose Street for an afternoon filled with BBQ to benefit the Georgetown Community Center ($10 per plate – cash or check please) and enjoy the sounds of the Cowboy Band as the children play at Fosters Place Playground with spectacular views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains.

The afternoon fun continues in Historic Downtown with live music on Library Stage (6th Street & Rose Street) special events, and even a hot dog eating contest at Guanella Pass Brewery!

Ice Cream Social Silver Plume 4th of July

Silver Plume Festivities

2:00 pm   ~  Ice Cream Social at Dinger Park

Enjoy a festive ice cream social complete with homemade cakes, pies, refreshments, and of course ice cream at Dinger Park, located at 310 Main Street in Silver Plume, Colorado. Please drop in from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. All proceeds will benefit People for Silver Plume.

The George Rowe Museum is located across the street and is open daily from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Take a tour of the original schoolhouse and learn about the history of Silver Plume and unique mining past. There is a small entrance fee to help support People for Silver Plume and ongoing historic preservation. Learn more at peopleforsilverplume.org

Idaho Springs Festivities

Dark   ~  Fireworks Show over the Charlie Tayler Waterwheel

The City of Idaho Springs is hosting a Town Party with fun for the whole family with activities from 10:45 am until 8:00 pm and fireworks to follow at dark.

Along Miner Street in Downtown Idaho Springs enjoy perusing the Miner Street Market, listening to live music + enjoying food and drink specials at local restaurants!

Fireworks will take place over the iconic Charlie Tayler Waterwheel, weather dependent.
