Celebrate Independence Day in Clear Creek County

Bring the family to Clear Creek County to enjoy great events scheduled in Georgetown, Silver Plume, and Idaho Springs. Enjoy an old fashioned 4th of July Parade, home cooked BBQ, cakes + pies + ice cream social, live music, entertainment, adventure activities, and fireworks over the iconic Charlie Tayler Waterwheel.

There are also many local restaurants, craft breweries, saloons, gift shops, art galleries, train rides, mine tours and museums to explore!

Georgetown Festivities

9:00 am  ~  Patriotic Pancake Breakfast at Guanella Pass Brewery

11:00 am  ~  Parade in Historic Downtown

12:00 pm  ~  BBQ in City Park

12:00 pm  ~ Cowboy Band in City Park

1:00 pm   ~  Jeffco Brass Band in Historic Downtown on Library Stage

2:00 pm   ~  Park County Regulators Shootout in Historic Downtown

Start the day in Georgetown, Colorado with a Patriotic Pancake Breakfast at Guanella Pass Brewery complete with Bloody Marys, Mimosas and Beer from 9-11am, followed by the Old Fashioned Parade down 6th Street in Historic Downtown. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and find a spot to watch – we also suggest bringing umbrellas for shade, or you can pick one up a beautiful keepsake umbrella at the Georgetown Valley Candy Company too!

After the parade enjoy a short walk to City Park at the corner of 10th Street and Rose Street for an afternoon filled with BBQ to benefit the Georgetown Community Center ($10 per plate – cash or check please) and enjoy the sounds of the Cowboy Band as the children play at Fosters Place Playground with spectacular views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains. There will also be a cart serving hot dogs, chips and drinks ($5 per meal – cash or check please)

The afternoon fun continues in Historic Downtown with live music on Library Stage (6th Street & Rose Street) featuring the Jeffco Brass Band and Bottlerocket Hurricane. Don’t miss the 2:00 pm Old West Shootout Reenactment with the Park County Regulators!

Ice Cream Social Silver Plume 4th of July

Silver Plume Festivities

2:00 pm   ~  Ice Cream Social at Dinger Park

Enjoy a free ice cream social complete with homemade cakes, pies, refreshments, and of course ice cream at Dinger Park, located at 310 Main Street in Silver Plume, Colorado. Please drop in from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. If you wish to make a donation all proceeds will benefit People for Silver Plume.

The George Rowe Museum is located across the street and is open daily from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Take a tour of the original schoolhouse and learn about the history of Silver Plume and unique mining past. There is a small entrance fee to help support People for Silver Plume and ongoing historic preservation. Learn more at peopleforsilverplume.org

9:15 pm   ~  Fireworks Show over the Charlie Tayler Waterwheel

The City of Idaho Springs is hosting a day filled with fun for the whole family with activities from 1:00 pm until 9:00 pm and fireworks to follow at 9:15 pm.

Along Miner Street in Downtown Idaho Springs enjoy perusing the Miner Street Market, listening to live music + entertainment while sipping on craft brews in the beer garden at Citizens Park (16th and Miner Street), bounce house for the kiddos, a dunk tank, caricature artist, and sampling the flavors of local restaurants and food vendors.

The Clear Creek Metropolitan Recreation Center will be featuring a satellite site offering fun family activities at the Shelly/Quinn Ball Fields complete with bumper cars, a bounce house, lawn + yard games, and food vendors too – There will be free shuttles running throughout the day to transport people between the two sites!

Fireworks will take place over the iconic Charlie Tayler Waterwheel starting at 9:15 pm, weather dependent.
