On your trip, the train will pass the remains of gold and silver mines.
Completed in 1884, the spectacular Georgetown Loop features a three-foot wide narrow gauge rail line that is considered to be an engineering marvel for its time. The design of the railroad allowed it to be built on steep, dangerous grades by devising a system of hairpin turns, bridges, and a curve. Soon, the wondrous railroad became Colorado’s first “must-see” visitor attraction. On your ride, you’ll not only see this old rail route from a late-1800s trail, you’ll also pass historic gold and silver mines.
