Due to the winter weather advisory we have decided to cancel this year’s festival to prioritize the safety of staff, vendors, and participants.
We regret that we will not get to see those of you who were planning to attend, but we wish for you to stay safe, stay warm, and look forward to seeing you in Clear Creek County again soon!
The Annual Georgetown Bighorn Sheep Festival
Enjoy a free, family-friendly festival with the Town of Georgetown and Colorado Parks and Wildlife as you learn more about Bighorn Sheep and enjoy activities throughout the day!
The festival takes place every year on the 2nd Saturday of November.

Georgetown Gateway Visitor Center: I-70 Interchange, 1491 Argentine Street
Watch Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep on a nearby hillside. Spotting scopes will bring the action into clear view while you learn about Bighorn Sheep biology and behavior
Bighorn Sheep Puppet Craft

Craft a Bighorn Sheep puppet with us! Bring your creativity; we’ll provide the supplies!
Face Painting

Bounce House

The Clear Creek Metropolitan Recreation District presents a bouncing good time for all children attending the festival!

Across the street from Strousse Park, enjoy live music at the Library Stage. This year enjoy special music by State of Affairs who has been a staple in the Colorado Blues Scene for many years.
Bighorn Hokey Pokey

Learn about Bighorn behavior with a familiar childhood dance and meet Elbert the Colorado Parks and Wildlife mascot.

Watchable Wildlife: Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep – The Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep is Colorado’s State Mammal and provides an excellent opportunity to view some of Colorado’s amazing wildlife!
Come learn about Bighorn Sheep biology and behavior and tips for watching these amazing animals during their annual rut (mating season).
Tours of the Museum are available from 10am – 4pm ($10/adult)

Enjoy a train ride aboard the Georgetown Loop Railroad as the Holiday Season kicks off with special Santa’s Rocky Mountain Adventure and Lighted Forest themed train rides! All trains depart from the Georgetown Devil’s Gate Depot.
Seating is limited, and trains do sell out. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance as walk up tickets are welcome but not guaranteed.
Family-Friendly Bingo

Everyone is welcome to join us for BINGO at the Georgetown Community Center! There will be a $10 taco bar (kids eat free) at 5:30pm, as well as a cash bar, and prizes too!
$5 Suggested donation per BINGO card – Kids Welcome to Play too!
ALL proceeds will benefit the Georgetown Community Center.
