The Annual Georgetown Bighorn Sheep Festival
Enjoy a free, family-friendly festival with the Town of Georgetown and Colorado Parks and Wildlife as you learn more about Bighorn Sheep and enjoy activities throughout the day!
The festival takes place every year on the 2nd Saturday of November.

Bighorn Sheep Viewing

Georgetown Gateway Visitor Center: I-70 Interchange
Watch Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep on a nearby hillside. Spotting scopes will bring the action into clear view while you learn about Bighorn Sheep biology and behavior

Bighorn Archery Instruction + Target Shooting
10am – 12pm and 1pm – 3pm
Georgetown Gateway Visitor Center
Join trained instructors and learn how to shoot a bow and arrow in a safe and fun environment (weather permitting)

Bighorn Sheep Puppet Craft

Craft a Bighorn Sheep puppet with us! We’ll have supplies available in our outside creative space, as well as a convenient take and make option!

Enjoy a train ride aboard the Georgetown Loop Railroad departing from the Georgetown Devil’s Gate Depot.
Seating is limited, and trains do sell out, be sure to purchase tickets in advance.

Watchable Wildlife: Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep – The Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep is Colorado’s State Mammal and provides an excellent opportunity to view some of Colorado’s amazing wildlife!
Come learn about Bighorn Sheep biology and behavior and tips for watching these amazing animals during their annual rut (mating season).
Tours of the Museum are available from 10am – 4pm ($10/adult)

Join Georgetown Outdoor Discovery for a guided nature hike. Meet at Strousse Park shortly before 1pm to join in the fun!
