In the winter months Georgetown Lake offers a unique ice fishing adventure. Bring your warming hut, auger, best rod and reel, lure/bait, fishing license, and pull up a chair to enjoy an afternoon in the fresh Rocky Mountain air as you sit at more than 8,530′ above sea level in Georgetown, Colorado.
Georgetown Lake typically begins to freeze in mid-late November and is ready for ice fishing by early December. Located off of I-70, simply take Exit 228, at the round a bout take your 3rd exit and head north on Argentine Street, Georgetown Lake is approximately one mile north of the Gateway Visitor Center.
