Memorial Day Events and Activities
Memorial Day Weekend in Clear Creek County offers reflection and adventure for all ages.
The weekend features the grand re-opening of the Mount Evans and Guanella Pass Scenic and Historic Byways, weather permitting… As well as the Annual Burro Races in Georgetown and Idaho Springs, museum tours, train rides, white water rafting, ziplines, challenge courses, guided OHV tours, shopping, dining, sipping on locally crafted suds, live music and other events too!
Most camping sites officially reopen this weekend also ~ Open space and trails are in full bloom and welcome you to explore under their lush, new, beautiful, green forest canopy complete with breathtaking vistas.
Idaho Springs
The City of Idaho Springs will reopen the Miner Street Market in the Historic Downtown District complete with outdoor dining, live music, cornhole, and special activities all summer and into the fall. While visiting enjoy white water rafting, ziplines, sipping local suds, shopping, dining, gourmet pizza, gold mine tours, museum tours, and more! The Annual Burro Race will visit Idaho Springs on Sunday, May 28th.
Georgetown
The Town of Georgetown will be hosting Georgetown Days on 6th Street May 26-29th with special events, live music, and additional activities daily. All museums and attractions are now open including the Georgetown Loop Railroad, gold and silver mine tours, and museum tours. Be sure to visit the local breweries and sip on locally crafted suds, enjoy homemade candies and ice cream, or freeze dried foods too! The Annual Burro Race will visit Georgetown on Saturday, May 27th.
Empire
The shops and restaurants will be open in the Town of Empire and are looking forward to special events this summer including the All4Fun – Mile Hi Jeep Week in late July!
Silver Plume
The Town of Silver Plume will reopen the George Rowe Museum, the Plume Coffee shop will be open, and the Bread Bar is planning to have live music, while the Georgetown Loop Railroad welcomes riders to the Silver Plume Depot.
